2010 Alumni Award

TBI will be issuing its first-ever SEE Program Alumni Award during the Annual Friend-Raiser Event at Heavenly on July 2nd, 2010, in celebration of TBI’s 20th anniversary.

This award is intended to recognize the accomplishments of TBI alumni who have gone on to make significant contributions to one or more of the following fields, all of which promote the long-term mission and vision of the Tahoe-Baikal Institute:

1. Watershed Protection
2. Cultural Exchange
3. Sustainable Development
4. Contribution to the Tahoe-Baikal Institute

The following people have been nominated to recieve the award in 2010:

• Sudeep Chandra (TBI 1997), Professor, University of Nevada – Reno
• Frank Kanawha Lake (TBI 1991), Research Ecologist, US Forest Service
• Jeremy Sokulsky (TBI 1995), President, Environmental Incentives
• Karen Fink (TBI 1993), Transportation Planner, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA)
• Rachel Sigman (TBI 2001), Doctoral Candidate, Syracuse University
• Silke Rover (TBI 1993), Fundraising Campaign Manager, Tahoe-Baikal Institute
• Tony Brunello (TBI 1993), Deputy Secretary for Energy and Climate Change, California Resources Agency
